A huge mistake people do with their group is that they let everyone join, so why it’s such a bad idea when the high numbers look impressive?

Why is that such a big mistake, Viki?

You should let more people in to start with to make sure your group grows quickly, so just now let everyone in – said a lead gen person.

Let me explain to you why this would NOT be a good idea. When the group was 4.5 months old I really slowed down its growth. On purpose. To be honest, now I actually decline more requests than approve them.

Are you crazy, Viki? 😱

No, I’m not. For real. 😂

It was about 2 months prior when I started this extreme filtering but by now I became very critical (hint, you should be too) about who can come in. And I think this is something you should consider if you have a Facebook group or want to run one.

A few of the reasons why you should only let people in who are a good fit (I’m talking about the group’s purpose, not just about your ideal clients) are these;

👉 You let people in but they are posting and commenting on stuff that goes against Fb’s community standards and your group’s quality is marked.

Basically, you’re working hard to grow your group, help your peeps and some aholes spam your group that risks everything you’re working so hard on.

Not good.

👉 Let’s say you want a great, highly engaged group. But the people you let in are not interested in anything you’re saying, they just want to promote themselves.

If later down the line you want to monetise the group, you’ll have a hard time doing so. As if you don’t have engagement on your posts, people will not see your posts in the group.

👉 Let’s say you let people in, because, well because of your ego and wanted to feel and look like an influencer with a bigger group. That’s ok, I understand that.

But unfortunately, that’s going to be something that works against you.

If the people in the group do not engage with you, wouldn’t buy from you, only want to promote themselves (basically only thinking in a commercial way instead of being part of a community) Fb will refer you to the same ‘kinda’ people.

You build and grow your Facebook group and it starts to explode

Once you reach a certain group size if that group is engaged Fb will start to show your group to people who might be interested in it.

If the group has high engagement, lots of people will see your group as ‘recommended’.

How do they do it? They see what kind of people, demographic, etc take up your group. Who your top contributors, posters & people who engage in your group are, what do they post about and Facebook finds them and suggests your group to them.

So basically, if you just grow a group full of ‘wrong’ people who couldn’t give a flying pig about what you’re saying, your chances to monetise it or have any kind of benefit (apart from your ego) well… chances are slim.

So although many people will tell you to grow your group quickly and big, that’s not everything.

And don’t fall for the “you’ll be an influencer if you have x number of group members”. If you have a group with 100-500 people you are already an influencer. It’s called a micro-influencer. And if they’re engaged you can make much more money with them than if you have 25,000 members who couldn’t care less about you.

It’s proven a long time ago, just look up the “influencer girl with 2.6 million followers who couldn’t sell 36 shirts”… If you don’t believe me, go and google it 😏

So let’s drop the size of the group as the main defining metric, shall we?

I personally booted over 3,300 people from my group because they did not fit and did not have the same values that I and this group represent.

Also, because I regularly post in the group about being ethical, not being a vulture on vulnerable people, being upfront and asking people to leave the misleading sh!t somewhere else (yes, I remove that content) certain people leave the group.

It happens when I post about the above topics, so self-selection works perfectly 😊 Which is obviously great!

So even though your group looks more impressive if the numbers are biggish but it does not mean your group is good.

So even though your group looks more impressive if the numbers are biggish but it does not mean your group is good.

I know a few biggish groups where the group owner (well, that would be Fb, but anyway) boasts about how great their group is, they even run paid promo membership but if you pay attention to the actual engagement in that group…

…Only the promo threads have any engagement and they can’t sell their offers. Or at least nothing that costs more than about $37…

And because they are biggish, Facebook shows to the same people (who don’t want to buy anything from them) the group as a ‘recommended group’.

They’re happy because their group grows.

But not with the right people.

If you’re tired of ‘attracting’ the wrong people and/or managing a group that doesn’t give a flying pig about your offer, it’s time to find the best ways to grow your audience/client base based on your existing results, resources and your personality.

And if you want my help with it, keep reading because I tell you how we’ll do it.

How will we do this?

First, we start with the Outstanding Gameplan where we’ll look at your business, industry and your offer to understand why people buy from you and leverage buyer psychology to sign more clients. (I wrote a dissertation on the topic.) And we’ll find the unique essence of your offer that’ll put you above all similar offers to attract and impress your (prospective) clients.

And after that, we’ll do the math and your pricing to make sure your business can reach a very nice and comfortable high-profit margin revenue (a.k.a. your ambitious income goal), without working every hour under the sun. Yes, this means we’ll brainstorm ways to increase the value of your offer or reduce the time of delivery.

And if you’re a good fit and want to go further after the Outstanding Gameplan, you might grab one of the Profit Zone offers to progress further, which include the below steps and more.

We’ll find the best ways to grow your audience by checking on your existing results, resources & your personality. You can expect to work on your email marketing, social media & community-building activities.

We’ll put together a simple system & process that’ll help you increase your sales conversion & referral rate.

We’ll pinpoint your crystal clear & concise message & craft a few viral & engagement posts. You’ll write different posts following my proven method by leveraging buyer psychology to get the leads coming in. Then I review & critique your content.

We’ll optimise your sales process to increase your conversion rate, so you can enjoy better results with less work.

Together, we’ll create the simplest marketing plan on Earth for your business. And help you repurpose your content to be able to set and forget most of it.

By this point, your offer, your messaging, content & sales process basically lets people close themselves with very little effort on your side.

One of the versions of my Profit Zone method I used to help a client to go from making £9M in a year to over £20M in just 9 months. This method also helped me save 6 figures in a client’s marketing budget whilst increasing their business growth by 270%.

End result? You’ll be able to simplify your marketing, fine-tuning your marketing message and methodology so these won’t hold you back from rapid growth and peace in your business anymore.

No more working way too hard talking to the wrong people and presenting your offers in the wrong way.

Pretty simple, right? And very effective.

But this is not for everyone, so who's a good fit to work with me?

they want better quality leads and more clients but they don’t want the “busy work”, they want to focus on money-generating tasks and they need a clear method they can follow

their content doesn’t generate buzz and/or leads because it lacks the clarity and powerful, unambiguous positioning and messaging required to generate those leads

they already know their material is great but for some reason, they’re stuck under the frustrating income ceiling that they want to smash through now

they don’t want to change niche or your offer (tweaking is fine) because it works but they need to up their game

they’re confident in their ability to convert all their new leads into clients
