You’re a service provider, coach or consultant and you want more money. But you don’t just want more revenue, you want more profit. Because, after all, profit is the thing that we can spend. So it’s natural you want to increase it without doing more work or raising your prices.

As you’re in the business for a while, you might be burnt out a few times by overworking yourself. Missed out on family holidays, or meeting with friends. You might spend too much time typing your proposals on your computer or replying to a client at 9pm on messenger/WhatsApp or Voxer. You might want to compensate for the long hours by raising your prices and by doing so, losing clients. Or being ghosted or hearing the familiar, “this is too expensive, could you give me a discount?“. Or “I found someone who does it for half-price“…

If this is you, then you are buried under the neverending tasks of running a business and never seeing the sunlight again… And this is definitely NOT something you’ve signed up for. I know I didn’t.

So let me give you a few pointers to save some time for yourself, make some extra cash and escape the mental and physical pain of being chained to your desk/screen. Because these are the elements of your freedom. And that’s why you persist and push through the hard times, for your freedom.

Profit increasing tips

Increase the efficiency of your work, a.k.a. increase the value of your offer

There are tons of ways to make your own work quicker by mapping it out. For example, I created templates for my ebooks, social media artwork, processes and basically everything in business. If I want to create a new lead magnet, even if I need to record a video for it, I’m ready with everything from idea to delivery in 4 hours. How?

I mapped out every single step I need to follow. I have tons of predefined templates I can just pop the content in and it’ll work perfectly. I created the workflows, triggers and automation, so it takes me no time to put them together. I have written out the email sequence templates and just need to adjust them to match the new lead magnet. I genuinely have a step-by-step process for it.

And I have this for everything I do. Yes, it’s pain in the backside at first to put together, but after that, it serves me extremely well.

I can create paid offers at the same speed. And once I have the exact step-by-step process, I can see what and where I should/could tweak things to make it quicker and more efficient. Why would I waste time and reinvent the wheel every time if it’s not needed?

And by shaving off tasks by using templates, automation and workflows I save time, money and energy. I can spend the time on money generating tasks (or anything else) rather than on things that don’t move the needle but are necessary to do.

And by delivering results for my clients quicker means that I’m increasing the value of my offer. I want you to read this sentence again because just this sentence is worth reading this thingy. Delivering results for my clients quicker means that I’m increasing the value of my offer.

To give you a real-life example here’s my Outstanding Gameplan offer, which is a 2,5 hours online session that helps service-based businesses with a max of 3 decision-makers to strengthen their uniqueness and leverage buyer psychology to increase their profit. Basically, making them incomparable.

This offer originally was the base of one of my 1-month coaching programmes but after working with people, fine-tuning the process and refining the delivery I can give the same result in 2,5 hours as in my month-long programme. And it takes me less time to deliver the same thing because I became more efficient. I only include the necessary exercises and tasks to get the result.

It delivers results quicker for my clients and that means it’s more valuable for them. Did I raise the price? No. It actually costs less than the one-month programme. But not because I don’t value my time or offer. It’s for a very different strategic reason.

Because after the Outstanding Gameplan, many people will want to go for one of the Profit Zone programmes. Those programmes deliver results in 1 or 3 days. And you guessed, those were the base of my 3-months programmes. I’m not going to detail them here, you can find more info about my offers if you want to work with me.

And by first taking through clients the Outstanding Gameplan, I can see and decide if I want to work with them on a longer project. If I can (and want to) help them further. But that’s not about increasing the efficiency of my work.

So, if you want to improve your efficiency you need to map out your process. Once that’s done you’ll need to eliminate those elements that are not necessary. Yes, it might mean culling. And after that, you need to find the parts and elements you can automate, templatise or create a fluid workflow for them. By this, you’ll be able to save time on the delivery so that you can either take on more clients – working the same hours you did before, a.k.a. increasing your revenue and profit. Or spend it to further increase the value of your offer and make yourself extremely sought-after. Because if you reach that point, you won’t hear again the dreaded “it’s too expensive”…

Look for ways to cut costs

This one is the easiest and quickest way to save money. I recommend you to look through thoroughly every 3 months what you’re spending money on. What subscriptions do you have but don’t use? You might be surprised to see how much your tech stack can cost you if you don’t pay attention to it.

I know a lot of entrepreneurs who purchase LTDs (lifetime deals) on different platforms and they get FOMO if something new comes out and they rush to buy it. If you’re one of them, unsubscribe from their email list to save you the pain. In case you really want to be updated on those things, there are Facebook groups specifically for SaaS (Software as a Service) LTDs that I suggest you join.

Yes, experience tells me this, even though I don’t buy stuff just for the sake of it, I don’t like wasting time reading about those deals and offers when it’s not a good time. And by that I mean I look for those deals when I want to change my tech stack. When I’m looking for a different solution. When I want to cut costs. Because sometimes cutting costs means you need to invest first.

Or if you have a VA or an assistant, is there anything you/they could automate to make it better? For example your onboarding process. If you do everything manually it will take you ages. I mean sending the emails (even if you just grab the template and personalise it for them), giving access to the Welcome Package or the offer breakdown, etc is a minimum of 15 minutes. If it’s not a high-ticket offer (in my book it’s between 8k – 100k) you don’t need to send those emails personally. Of course, the more expensive the offer is the more personalised the approach is (should be).

Cutting costs is basically built on the foundation of mapping out your processes. Because if you know that, you’ll be able to cut costs much-much easier. And can avoid your assistant spending ages on tasks when it could be automated.

So, check the existing subscriptions you have. What coaching, mentoring, mastermind, etc programmes are you in? Do you attend the events? Are you an active member? Is there a better-suited alternative you could use? Do you need these? Is there anything you could automate to cut costs?

You can use these 2 tips immediately to increase your profit without taking on more clients or raising your prices.
