I had a client who sold luxury high-ticket offers in the health and wellness industry. And when I say high-ticket, I refer to offers between 8k and 100k. Their prices many times required financing because at least 40% of their clientele needed that option.

So, they had multiple luxury high-ticket offers and they were concentrated on bringing in tons of leads. Their thought process was that they need to get a big market share as quickly as possible to strengthen their position. They were making 6-7 figures every month already.

When I first started to work with them, they had nothing planned. I mean I was really surprised by that because everything they did was really amateurish and they still managed to make a lot of money. They ran ads, as most gurus would just say that. That was their plan. (And we both know when you hear the word ‘scaling’ the first thing that you think is “running ads”.) No promotional strategy, no qualifying leads, no automation, no strategy of any kind or even differentiation.

The only market research they did was that they clicked on their competitors’ ads. Yep, for real.

Their idea of ‘ideal client’ looked like this

Customer A, they can afford their stuff

Customer B, they can’t afford their stuff

Customer C, everyone else

So they wanted to get Customer A’s attention. But that was all they knew about Customer A. Nothing. They’ve never ever checked the accumulated data to see who their buyers are. What they want or why they buy.

They literally put out a here’s the ‘thing’, these are the features and this is the price, a.k.a their blunt offer. And they just burnt money to get this ‘buy my stuff now’ message out. Their ad costs were enormous. The CPA (cost per acquisition; the cost of sale of individual offers) was so high I couldn’t believe my eyes.

It was ridiculous how much money they wasted by following the aggressive and old-school bro-marketing structure. Yes, they hired one of those guys…

I’m talking about a business that makes millions of pounds on a monthly basis selling high-ticket offers and from the inside it’s absolutely catastrophic…

They did not know how to make more money. Although they had 6-7 figure sales every month their overheads were increasing every month due to bad management (a.k.a. no planning just firefighting). And the bro-marketer’s response was to this to spend more money on ads and be more aggressive with their sales message. 

To actually get the sales, deliver the service, pay the staff this process didn’t leave much money with them.

They knew if one competitor with a bigger ad budget gets in and they start to lose leads and clients, they won’t be able to keep up with the overheads. I mean how crazy is that you put all your eggs into one basket and hope that no one else will copy you or try to take a slice of the pie…

They were in a very bad and dark situation, even though from the outside it looked quite fabulous.

They purchased the nice brand new Mercedes, well they leased it, they had fancy clothes and the newest iPhone (again, on a payment plan) so it looked like from the outside that they were doing very well. Really well.

But they were panicking. They desperately needed to increase their profit. Not just their sales figures, their profit. And it takes some effort to admit that they were screwed. And this was the place when they asked for my help.

So I’ve created them a strategy and a system they could follow. Worked on their promotional calendar and planned out the needed steps to increase their profit. That was highest priority.

I worked with them to identify their uniqueness. It went so well that they won an award for it… I mean for real.

The award entry was based on the company’s story and development and they won.

Their messaging has been changed. They still had some of that old-school bro-marketer stuff as they weren’t ready to let that go as it brought in clients to them previously.

But we were concentrating on a total different aspect of their offer. The aspirational part, the lifestyle elements, the emotional elements. And we traded the ‘buy my stuff now’ to a much more sophisticated messaging that followed buyer psychology.

Additionally, I was working with them to optimise their processes and lead generation. I helped them build a qualifying system and set KPIs to make sure they hit their targets. We added additional streams of leads to lower the risks they had with only one channel.

In the first month, they sold 30% more high-ticket offers than in the previous one. For 59.77% less money. Yup, precisely 59.77% less money spent on marketing in just under 1 month!

In 6 months the CPA (cost per customer acquisition) went down by 33.51% compared to the previous year and they sold 46.11% more high-ticket offers at a higher price point.

To be precise they sold an extra 688 high-ticket offers more in that 6 months than in the previous year with actually reducing their marketing costs. And that resulted in a 42.3% increase in their profit.

Yes, it is possible.
